Sleep Care is formulated with a blend of synergistic nutrients to promote relaxation and restful sleep. Because several botanicals included in Sleep Care have been shown to interact with the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS). Specifically, lemon balm, valerian and hops act as Phyto cannabinoids, natural plant substances that can interact with the ECS in a similar manner to endocannabinoids. The ECS botanicals in our formula help to calm and relax the central nervous system and restore balance in the body.

Whether you are sleep deprived from a busy lifestyle, work a night shift, are jet lagged or occasionally find it difficult to fall asleep, Sleep Care provides natural support for restful, refreshing sleep.

Key Ingredients

Sleep Care supplies soothing, herbal nervines, including passion flower, chamomile, valerian, lemon balm and hops, to promote natural relaxation of the nervous system and provide support for occasional sleeplessness. Double-blind clinical studies involving valerian, valerian/hops combinations and valerian/lemon balm combinations have shown the potential to support falling asleep as well as healthy sleep quality.

L-theanine (as Suntheanine®) is provided for its ability to stimulate alpha wave production in the brain, creating a state of deep relaxation. L-theanine appears to play a role in the formation of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) – a neurotransmitter that reduces neuronal excitability throughout the nervous system and promotes a calming response to stress.

A natural hormone synthesized from the amino acid tryptophan by the pineal gland, melatonin plays an important role in regulating the body’s daily and annual biological rhythms, the sleep/wake cycle. As melatonin is naturally activated by darkness and depressed by light, irregular schedules or insufficient exposure to natural light can disrupt its production.  When taken before the onset of the natural melatonin secretion, melatonin can promote sleep. It is believed that melatonin potentiates the effects of GABA via direct interaction with GABA receptors, resulting in relaxation. Researchers have indicated that melatonin supports the quality of sleep as it relates to falling asleep, sleep efficiency (percent of healthy sleep to total time in bed), and awakening.
